from [livejournal.com profile] lady_gemma

Whoever comments on this post gets to request a short fic from me. In return, they have to post this meme in their journal.

Sho is on edge all week, buried in newspapers in the green room and checking his iPhone between takes. It’s a struggle to get him to come out to Wasted Wednesday at all, so everyone’s not too shocked when he snaps at Aiba only two drinks in.

“You have absolutely no idea what’s going on in the world, do you?”

Nino grabs Sho by the arm and leads him out of the bar, glancing over his shoulder to see Aiba pretend to laugh while Ohno and Jun quickly launch into a Sammi routine. By the time they reach the van, Sho is sullenly dragging his feet. Nino opens the backseat door and climbs in, beckoning him.

“Come on.”

Sho looks around the parking lot for a moment before complying. The door shuts and the van is dark save for the weak glow of the streetlights through the tinted windows. Nino pulls Sho on top of him and combs his fingers through Sho’s hair.

“Hush, now, little Sho,” Nino says.

“Go die in a fire.”

Nino chuckles.

“Seriously, what’s wrong with you?” he demands, pinching Sho’s side and getting a grunt in return.

“The economy,” Sho mumbles, face tucked in Nino’s neck.

“Is that all?”

“Is that all?” Sho repeats, incredulous.

“Well, we just need to trust the market, right?” Nino drawls, fingers dipping into the collar of Sho’s shirt.

“You don’t-” Sho stammers. “You can’t just- It’s not that simple!”

Nino yawns and folds his arms behind his head, listening patiently while Sho explains credit and currency values and the effects of globalization on the world market. He nods when appropriate, occasionally adjusting Sho’s arms and legs so that they’re properly tangled together by the time Ohno unlocks the van and flings the door open to serenade them with TOKIO hits. Aiba tugs at Nino’s legs, reminding him that he is their designated driver. Sho sits up against the window, dazed, and Jun climbs in next to him with a smirk.

“And what were you two doing?”

“We talked about the stock market,” Nino informs him, winking in the rearview mirror.

Sho hastily buttons his shirt (when did Nino do that?) and nods as he buckles his seatbelt.

“There’s a serious crisis right now.”

“Boring,” Jun sighs, head lolling back against the seat.

Ohno leans over Jun, grinning.

“Yeah, I like explaining fishing to Nino."

Sho opens his mouth to respond to that, but suddenly Rhianna is blasting from the speakers (most likely Aiba's doing), and he gives up. Nino drops everyone else off, first, which doesn't make sense.

"Unless it does," Nino answers, pulling into his apartment's parking structure.

Sho cannot argue that logic.

Oh, I love it! (And I love Ohmiya as well, so that's not a problem. :D)

This is a fantastic meme. Unfortunately, I have very few Arashi fans on my friends list and will probably end up writing nothing for them. Erm... then again, I've written like... 3 different ficlets in the past 2 weeks, so maybe it isn't so necessary.

Now I'm just rambling.

ANYWAY, I love econmics and Sho together in the same fic. Very well written too for such a fast response! :D

economics + sho = otp

Thank you for the prompt, I had fun with it! Glad you enjoyed reading!

SO GREAT. ♥

Also, I notice there are EVEN MORE ficlets in this post now. MMMMFF. Expect happy commenting funtimes!

On the inherent challenges in citing favorite lines in comment fic.

and best of all,

“Yeah, I like explaining fishing to Nino."

It's like every conversation I have had with my coworkers for the past month. For the record, I would be horrified if any of them tried to soothe me by dragging me out to the parking lot to make out.
