[fic] arashi - sho/jun, ohno/jun, ohmiya - "good intentions" part two
Title: Good Intentions [2/2]
Pairing: Sho/Jun, Ohno/Jun, Ohmiya
Rating: R (not very)
Disclaimer: In no way do I claim the following is/has/will happen. This is only fiction written for fun!
Summary: In which Ohno lies, Nino is bitter, and Jun tells it like it is.
A/N: I missed my deadline by about two weeks, didn't I? I won't set them in the future. Halfway through writing this, I realized "Good Intentions" doesn't necessarily need a sequel, but here it is, nonetheless, in it's angsty ambiguity! I have some more fic relating to "Alibi" in the works, so hopefully I can make it up to you.
Part one is here
Sho’s been acting funny all day, treating Jun like he’s radioactive and shooting guilty looks at Ohno between takes. Nino’s pretty sure that Sho must have made an ass of himself after Friday night’s party, but Ohno won’t tell him anything about it. Nino corners Ohno after filming and insists on going to his place for dinner. Ohno has plans, so Nino tells him that he’ll be over for breakfast.
“They fought, didn’t they?” Nino prods the next morning, dumping a bag of bagels on Ohno’s kitchen counter.
“Is that cinnamon-raisin?” Ohno asks, peeking in the bag.
“I can’t believe you,” Nino whines. “Their fights are hilarious. I like hilarious things. You’re denying me what I like.”
“Nothing interesting happened,” Ohno insists, looking through his cupboards for a clean glass.
“Then why did you wait until four in the morning to answer my messages?”
“I left my phone on silent.”
“And then you woke up at four and checked it,” Nino says, unimpressed.
“Yep,” Ohno answers. “Orange juice?”
“Just water,” Nino sighs. “You suck. You really suck.”
“If it makes you feel better, they didn’t fight,” Ohno says, carrying Nino’s things to the corner of his apartment that serves as the "living room."
“Did you and Sho fight, then?”
“I wasn’t involved in it,” Ohno grunts, frustrated.
“Aha!” Nino cries, nearly jumping on top of Ohno. “Something happened! Tell me already!"
Ohno fights him off with one hand, taking a bite of a bagel with the other. Nino gives Ohno a final shove and retreats to the other end of the couch.
“You’re acting like they hooked up or something,” Nino grumbles.
Ohno seems to have forgotten how to chew, stopping and staring at his food.
Nino's stomach flips.
“Ohno, what-” Nino says, halting. “How would you even know that?”
“Know what?” Ohno asks, still not looking Nino in the eye.
“Holy shit!”
Nino can’t believe he’s even following this line of logic, but Jun likes guys, and Sho’s a guy, and Sho does get kind of physical with Jun when he’s drinking. Somehow, the idea of Jun and Sho having drunken sex is not quite as unsettling as the thought of how Ohno would know about it.
“Nothing happened,” Ohno says, stirring his juice with a straw. “I was joking. Forget it.”
“Did you…see them?” Nino finally asks.
Ohno changes the channel on the muted television. Nino grabs the remote from his hand.
“It’s not like I climbed up and watched through a window,” Ohno snaps, face flushed.
Nino winces, picturing it. A sick feeling pools in his belly.
“I didn’t stay the whole time,” Ohno backtracks.
“I can’t believe you watched."
“They’re the ones who-” Ohno starts, giving up halfway and drinking his juice.
Nino has to leave, right now, so he pretends to check his phone for messages.
“Anyway," he sighs, as if he's suddenly become bored with the story. "I can't stay long. I’ll see you at the studio, okay?”
He can feel Ohno frowning at him as he walks away, but he doesn’t turn back.
“What about your bagels?” Ohno asks.
“Keep them,” Nino answers, his hand on the door. “I don’t think I like the sweet ones.”

Nino sticks to Aiba during filming. He doesn’t know what to say to Ohno, and he’s sure that if he talks to Jun or Sho he’ll give himself away. Aiba’s “Arashi-senses” are, of course, tingling, and he does his best to thwart Nino’s plans with inside jokes and excessive hugging.
At the end of the game, Ohno is the weakest link. Nino tries to at least enjoy that. Ending up alone in the dressing room with Jun doesn’t make this easy.
“What crawled up your ass today?” Jun asks, playing with his hair in the mirror.
Normally, Nino would have a similarly bitchy response, but today he’s just tired.
“Nothing.”
“Ohno couldn’t stop hovering over you."
“Well, he does like to watch people, doesn’t he?” Nino replies, sounding much angrier than he intended.
Jun's face falls. Quickly, he turns and locks the door.
“You cannot say anything to Sho."
Nino pulls his shirt over his head in one motion, frowning at his reflection.
“I’m serious,” Jun continues. “He’s not handling it well, and if he knows that you know, then it will just make things worse.”
“Sho’s a big boy, isn’t he?” Nino asks, packing his things and glancing up at Jun.
Jun doesn’t look nearly as intimidating as he sounds, Nino thinks.
“Besides, you should have thought about all this beforehand - and don’t give yourself excuses, you hold your alcohol much better than Sho.”
“If I had known Sho would be so immature about it I wouldn’t have done it,” Jun sighs, sitting in one of the styling chairs.
Nino watches him, incredulous. Jun thinks they're having a heart-to-heart.
“I’m just glad I only gave Ohno a blow job,” Jun says.
Nino drops his bag and sits in the second chair, feeling like someone has just knocked the wind out of him. Jun rolls his eyes.
“It’s not a big deal.”
“Apparently not, since he didn’t tell me about it,” Nino mutters.
Jun shrugs.
Nino should really take a quiet moment to process things, but he decides to bark at Jun instead.
“What, Sho's dick wasn’t enough?” he asks.
“Excuse me?” Jun sits up straight.
He's genuinely startled. Nino sees that, but he can't shut his mouth.
“It just seems kind of slutty, don’t you think?”
One of the many things Jun cannot stand is that word, especially from Nino, but he doesn’t lash out like Nino wants him to. He just closes his eyes for a moment, then folds his hands in his lap and smiles.
“So, because you can’t touch Ohno's dick, no one should?” Jun asks, as politely as possible.
“What the hell were you thinking?” Nino demands, frustrated with Jun for not yelling back.
“I wasn’t,” Jun answers, throwing up his hands. “As much as you want to think we're all out to get you, it really had nothing to do with you. If you’re mad at Ohno, then you should talk to Ohno. That’s what 'big boys' do, isn’t it?”
Nino watches, defeated, as Jun stands up and pulls his messenger bag over his shoulder.
“Don’t you dare judge me," Jun says, finally showing a hint of anger. "At least I’m honest with myself.”
Jun leaves the door flung wide open. Nino sits alone with Jun's words until he hears a knock.
"Are you decent?" asks Ohno, peeking around the doorjamb.
Nino stares at Jun's empty seat for a moment before giving Ohno a small smile.
"What do you want?"
"Dinner?" Ohno asks, for the first time.
Nino picks up his bag and it seems heavier than he remembers. Ohno hovers just outside the room, waiting for an answer. Nino reaches out and grabs his hand.
"You're paying."

(Anonymous) 2008-05-28 06:39 am (UTC)(link)I mean, granted Nino DID agree to go to dinner with Ohno (and really, like it's EVER Nino who pays...), but still.... I want to see them make up
and out... and then have hot OhMiya sex...Your Jun is such a slutty ho. D; sad.
HOWEVER
your Nino is excellent and full of win.
“Their fights are hilarious. I like hilarious things. You’re denying me what I like.”
SO MUCH WIN. OH MAN. I LUL'd MYSELF TO DEATH OVER THAT LINE.
Okay. I quietly lul'd myself almost to death. But still.
no subject
Ah, there's more to him than meets the eye, I promise.
Although what meets the eye is definitely a slutty ho XD
Glad you enjoyed! Sorry there wasn't
hot ohmiya sexin this one ^__^no subject
might have something to do with how the situation and your characterizations of Arashi seem so very real, and that I adore your writing style :)
this is the first somewhat angsty and ambiguous Arashi fic that I've ever enjoyed so much ^__^
and more fic relating to Alibi in the future??! waahh, I'm so happy!

And, yes! alibi!Ohmiya is all a'swimming in my brain. I'm excited that you're excited!
(NICE icon btw)

“Holy shit!”
I tried so hard not to squeal out loud at that, and barely succeeded. I did, however, stomp my feet in glee.
“I can’t believe you watched,” Nino says, much more quietly.
You're just jealous, Nino.
“What, Sho wasn’t enough?” he asks.
Niiiiiinoooooo, stop making things worse!
I wasn't really expecting more out of this one, but I like how it continued.
And I'd like how it would continue even furthersno subject

If Nino HAD been watching, I feel like he would have been much too involved. You know when someone watches you play a video game? It's like, "Get that mushroom! Jump!" Except...with Jun/Sho sex XD

But apart from all that, I like every thing about the writing here. Now if only your muses will teach my muses I will be most happy happy joy joy!

This Jun is kind of an amazing character to just waltz in for a one-shot. He feels like a force of pure chaos; his motivations seem so complex and contradictory, and it's really pretty surprising to meet a character like this in fanfic, and even more surprising that you could paint him so vividly in the limited space available to you. I am impressed. I don't really know how to say that clearly enough.
Nino. :( It must be particularly hard for someone who isn't in the habit of denying himself anything he wants to watch someone else walk in and take something he wasn't even allowing himself to consider a possibility. And Ohno -- I really appreciate your subtlety, how the only real mention of the anxiety he has to be feeling comes from Jun's "Ohno couldn't stop hovering over you," that coupled with our knowledge that Nino has been keeping some distance all day. But really, this is such a strength of yours, this ability to hint and suggest.
I wanted to leave you smart, thoughtful commentary because you write such smart, thoughtful fic. I'm sorry that I'm not better at that, but I do want you to know how pleased I am whenever I see an update from you, It's rare to see the kind of story that keeps challenging and surprising you even after you've read it several times, but I always know that's what I'm going to get from you.

I had worried visions of Ohno hopping the train to Nino's place after he finished his latte.
I'm glad to hear you say that, since pretty much my whole object in part two was to show how that wasn't an option.
Jun always seems like a complicated character to me. When I first became an Arashi fan I used to joke that Jun's face looked completely different to me in every picture, with only his eyebrows as an anchor! Now I kind of feel that way with his personality. There are a lot of angles to that kid.
Again, thank you for being so thorough in your comments! I hope to see them pop up in my future work!

I've been reading your work all night and don't think I'll be stopping just yet.
What I love most is the way you are able to say so much about a character or a relationship by saying so little - I'm of course talking about both the scene at breakfast and then the final with Jun and Nino.
It feels as though you've really captured what it is about each member of Arashi that makes them who they are making these situations seem so real. This is why I think you are one of the few FF writers who are able to take this kind of story and not make it as sordid, indulgent and (in the mysterious and intriguing case of Jun) overly angst-ridden. Instead what we find is a story with a real plot driven by complicated characters.
Another great read from you.
I hope this makes sense.

I really like this story, a loooot! ^____^
Thanks for sharing, I think I'll look up also for your other stories :3
